UtilityPower, Power Delivery (UPPD) is seeking an experienced and results-driven Construction Manager to lead the successful execution of power delivery construction projects across the United States. 

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the construction of transmission lines, utility interconnections, medium voltage collector lines, substations, switchyards, and associated power infrastructure supporting some of the nation's fastest-growing markets, including data centers, advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, and electric utilities. 

The ideal candidate is a proven construction leader with extensive experience managing large-scale utility and energy infrastructure projects, leading geographically dispersed teams, and delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Position Summary:
The Construction Manager will provide strategic leadership and field oversight for substation and transmission construction activities nationwide. This individual will work closely with customers, project managers, engineering teams, procurement personnel, construction superintendents, subcontractors, and field crews to ensure successful project delivery. 
The successful candidate will foster a culture focused on safety, quality, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction while supporting UPPD's growth objectives across multiple industry sectors. 

Key Responsibilities:
Construction Leadership & Project Delivery:
  • Lead construction execution for multiple projects nationwide. 
  • Develop and implement project execution strategies, staffing plans, and construction schedules. 
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract requirements. 
  • Monitor project performance, productivity, resource utilization, and schedule adherence. 
  • Perform regular field visits to assess project progress, resolve issues, and support project teams. 
  • Identify and mitigate construction, schedule, and operational risks. 
  • Drive consistent project execution standards across all regions. 

Safety Leadership:
  • Champion a zero-incident safety culture throughout all construction operations. 
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, utility, environmental, and company safety requirements. 
  • Lead safety reviews, audits, incident investigations, and corrective action programs. 
  • Promote accountability and continuous improvement in safety performance. 

Customer Relationship Management:
  • Serve as a key construction representative for customers and stakeholders. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with utility, renewable energy, industrial, and mission-critical customers. 
  • Participate in executive reviews, customer meetings, project status updates, and strategic planning discussions. 
  • Support successful project outcomes that strengthen long-term customer partnerships. 

Financial & Operational Management:
  • Manage labor productivity, equipment utilization, subcontractor performance, and project cost controls. 
  • Support project forecasting, budgeting, and profitability objectives. 
  • Review project performance metrics and implement corrective action plans when necessary. 
  • Assist with constructability reviews, project planning, estimating, and proposal support activities. 

Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop construction superintendents, foremen, and field leadership personnel. 
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and professional growth across the organization. 
  • Assist with workforce planning, recruitment, and succession development initiatives. 
  • Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. 

Quality Assurance & Commissioning Support:
  • Ensure construction activities meet project specifications, engineering requirements, and customer standards. 
  • Support quality control programs, inspections, testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project quality and execution efficiency. 


Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in substation, transmission, utility, power delivery, industrial, renewable energy, or related infrastructure construction. 
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee field construction activities, manage subcontractors, and coordinate project execution across multiple stakeholders. 
  • Working knowledge of construction safety practices, quality requirements, scheduling, and project execution processes. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to build relationships with customers, project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel. 
  • Experience interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules. 
  • Ability to travel extensively to project sites throughout the United States. 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting substation, transmission line, switchyard, utility interconnection, renewable energy, industrial, or mission-critical facility projects. 
  • Experience providing field leadership for multiple concurrent construction projects. 
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating field resources. 
  • Previous experience as a Superintendent, General Foreman, Foreman, Construction Manager, Field Manager, Project Manager, or similar leadership role. 
  • Familiarity with utility construction standards, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices. 
  • Experience working with utilities, renewable energy developers, industrial customers, data center developers, or EPC contractors. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred. 
  • OSHA, PMP, or other industry certifications are a plus.
